Grape
About
Wine grapes show enormous flavor diversity depending on variety and vinification, while common table grapes are bred mainly for thin skin and seedlessness, which limits their flavor range since much of a grape's character sits in the skin. Some varieties, like muscat, serve as both table and wine grapes and retain a distinctly grapey, floral, honeyed flavor with notes of rose and coriander seed; other white grapes share similar qualities, while ripe red grapes can show strawberry or black currant notes. Grape's mild, sweet-sour fruitiness pairs well with other fruits or as a contrast to meat.
